Dean and I went to visit the Greenwich Meridian. I never realised how lucky I was to be in London, where time starts! Haha, OK, not really. But basically where the GMT is which is the point of reference for the rest of the world.
The place is basically a huge park with a couple of small museums and the Queen’s House (not the palace, which I was initially confused about!)

It was beautiful on a hot summer day, and somewhat romantic too.

Dean was excited to see this…umm…big clock…that apparently is really cool because….hmm….I really should’ve listened when Dean explained it to me. Basically, it’s magical.

We got to see the line which wasn’t as big as I thought it was. And we even got to put each foot on each side of the line, which was super cool because we were in 2 different time zones simultaneously!
They even showed latitudes of some important cities, which ahem Kuala Lumpur was one of them. We could even print out a certificate of proof that we visited the Greenwich Meridian, that was actually quite a waste of my £2.

As much fun as that was, I felt a pang of sadness when we were fooling around jumping around the line.
Dean was at one side of the line, in another time zone, while I was at the other. It was like a little preview of our near future.
Only 9 days left until we part properly, and I’ve been so emotional every single day. Of course he will still be here for my graduation, and we will still have the rest of the summer in KL together until he has to come back to London in October. But it just won’t be the same anymore.
We have so much fun, us lovebirds. Discovering new things together, always laughing, rarely arguing. I’m so used to having him around, and doing things together. No matter where we are and no matter how sucky a situation is, it’s always so much better when we have each other.
He really is my best friend.
And being in 2 different time zones would really really really suck.
Big time.
Sweetheart, you will be perfectly fine! Absence makes the heart grow fonder. To make you feel better, I’ve been with the same guy for the past 5 years and only ONE full year we were in the same time zone.
When my boy went off to Australia, I was devastated. Now that he’s done and will be coming home (for about 2 years to work and then he’s off for masters and prolly for good), I’m actually kinda sad that this is it to our LDR! Hahahaha. I know it sounds weird but I think we learned quite a lot of from this distance. I think, I’m partly nervous too cuz working life’s waaay different. So enjoy LDR while it lasts, V
This is your chance to do silly things with him through webcamming hahaha!
